Artist Bio
Alixandrea Robinson is a Cherokee artist based in Edmond, Oklahoma. She began painting in 2021 as an act of self-care while home with two children under two, often working in quiet moments between naps. What started as small studies of clouds—a way to ease postpartum anxiety—became a practice of grounding, reflection, and healing. In 2025, after being accepted to study Native Art History at the University of Oklahoma, Robinson realized she wanted to be the artist—not the curator—and began her professional career in the arts.
Her background in history and education, including a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma (2022), informs her approach to art-making, grounding her work in both cultural context and personal narrative. Themes of motherhood, Native identity, and connection to place weave through each piece, inviting viewers to slow down and truly see what’s before them. Working primarily in acrylics, Robinson paints cloudscapes, flowers, and immersive landscape that explore memory, motion, and belonging.
Robinson was a Survey artist OVAC’s 25th Annual Momentum exhibit, and her work is available for viewing and purchasing at the Red Earth Art Gallery in downtown OKC.
