The Cherokee Rose is a symbol of Hope and resilience for the Cherokee people.
Legend says that these flowers sprouted up from the tears of grieving mothers who had lost their children along the Trail. Luckily for me, my eight year-old ancestor who walked the trail from Northern Missouri to Tahlequah, Oklahoma survived and thrived, allowing me and my children to make this land home. I’ve painted this and dedication of her her resilience as well as those who perished.
